Efficacious leadership is a personal journey that creates access to many professional destinations. The Efficacious Leadership Transition (ELT) process is embodied in the SwitchAMORPHOSIS Approach.

It is founded on the principle that people have the capacity to move from exhibiting qualities such as passivity, dependence and reactivity in their roles to behaving as active, agentic and responsive people instead.

Many of us have developed habits and behaviours that served us well in the past when a more Command-and-Control management style was the norm, but that management style is increasingly no longer suited to the contemporary world in which we live. Instead, an Empower and Engage leadership style is being seen as the preferred approach to match organisational needs and optimal employee motivation, productivity and engagement.

The Switch ELT recognises there are 3 stages in the journey of moving from a management to a leadership-dominant style: self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-regulation. Two Switch programs are providing a staged approach to boost this transition:

1. SwitchINFORM is a Series of live, lecture-style webinars (we call SwitchINARS revealing the behaviours and mindset that hold leaders back AND introducing the behaviours needed to embrace and switch to a leadership-dominant style.
2. SwitchINTERACT is a Series of live, interactive, facilitated SwitchINARS that go deeper and provide opportunities for self-reflection as well as applications designed to put leaders on the path towards adopting the new behaviours. Each SwitchINAR focuses on reducing the use of the old behaviours and self-setting attainable goals to help move leaders towards becoming Efficacious Leaders.

Each Series is supported by a unique set of capabilities which leaders need to develop, as well as being centred on specific domains – emotional, social and mental. All are embodied in the SwitchAMORPHOSIS approach.

How do we know if education of any type – training, facilitation, professional development, coaching – has been effective for the participants, the team or the organisation?

Historically, educators have relied on participant evaluation forms – colloquially referred to as “Happy or Smile Sheets” with their 5-point Likert responses and comments to judge the effectiveness of their interventions. But if behavioural change or applied knowledge is the goal, do they really measure this?

The SwitchINTERACT and Senior Leadership 360 programs complete a self-assessment both BEFORE and AFTER to see how much the strength and magnitude of their self-efficacy beliefs have changed.
